[928uk] Tensioner roller, rubbing one tensioner arm

I'm in the middle of changing my cambelt, tonight changing the main
tensioner roller on the cast tensioner arm. I'm using a pattern part roller
from the Porsche shop, but on fitting the circlip to the roller, fitting it
to the tensioner arm and torquing the retaining bolt, the tensioner roller
rubs on the main tensioner arm...I hope this make sense....?

Has anybody come across this before?

The obvious resolution would be to insert a washer between the circlip on
the roller and the arm....any reason why this would not be a good thing to
do?

Thanks in advance
