[928uk] Off topic - Boxsters

When I have been in one they seemed fine. It’s a nice “sports” styled 2 seat
car with a good little engine. Goes well drives well and the looks are down
to individual tastes.

It depends on your budget and what you want the car for.

Has it got potential issues? Of course it has it’s a Porsche! Early beetles
had a tendency to go backwards when you lifted off in a corner, 928’s have
flex plate problems, potential 2 and 6 bearing issues, and the GTS’s have
oil burning issues, some Boxsters and 996’s have rear main seal issues. It’s
a case of getting it checked properly and buying wisely (and keeping your
fingers crossed).

You will always be able to find a better more powerful or faster type of car
than you have set your heart on but thats true about most things.

Drive a few and see what you think of them.

So does nobody have a good word to say for a Boxster then...I thought they
were supposed to be great diving...?

Hi Alex.................what about a Kougar kit..............with a BMW V8
motor....instead of the now outdated Jag one? Should certainly blow the
cobwebs away! Regards Mike(T)

If you want a super reliable rag top with stonking performance for funny
money I would definitely look at the Z4M Roadster.

Often described as the German TVR, they are super fun. I had the coupe
version for 5 years and only sold it as I bought a house and needed every
last £ I could get my hands on. I would have another in a heart beat...

And I was looking at a Boxster because I thought it was a better option than
a TVR...hmmm, not so sure now ;-) Thanks to all for the info

If you're comparing with a Trevor i'd say get another 928. The Cerbera was
on my shortlist and i regularly thank providence (and my good taste) that i
chose the 928.

The Caymans are coming down in price now if you're after a two seater, neat
little car IMHO.

Tim
