Graham had some list problems but hes back now - here are his comments on 928 vs Boxster
Angus

Couple of additional comments on 928

1) Has been 928 rep at NEC classic car show last 2 years
2) Runs on 17 inch cup 2's with correct offsets. Actually wheels were for a 911, 964 series when I checked OEM ref in PETS
3) I have been bringing it back to its former glory the last 2 years only thing to sort out is AC and will probably have RITECH sort it out when I have time to take down there
4) According to Dr A running GT exhaust system and he fitted refurb Maff and GTS inlet manifold last year when he worked on it
5) Flappy valve works as Paul proved to me
6) Suspension set up for fast road / occasional track which I would like to do this year time permitting

Both cars are awesome in their own way hitting just over 160 and 0-100 in approx 13.5 seconds according to tests of that era. In gear acceleration for each is very similar if in kickdown in 928 or correct gear in boxster.

I just marvel at how far the 928 was ahead in 1989 for example ford crowing about the 2012 focus having automatic rad vents. That was on 928 20 plus years ago!! The audience I am sure know all the other points that the 928 was a tech de force

I love the 928 it is so different to anything else on road and you can out accelerate most things as a 964 found out when I went to the Silverstone classic was it really that speed?

I came back from seeing simon watson out in the back of beyond and ended up having a scrap with an Alpina B3 who over 18 miles of very fast road had one 928 up his chuff all the time.

Thanking you in advance of circulating to the 928 fraternity for me

I look forward to other members views

Regards

Graham
