You are right, you wouldn't want to just ground pin 2 while it is still
connected to the PDK control unit. You would need to cut the wire and
use a 2-way switch to connect the wire to either pin 2 or ground.
But, that might not work. There are several connections from the RDK
control unit to the dash, and you may need to isolate them all with a
multi-pole switch. Without the details of the RDK circuitry, you could
only do this by trial and error.
