Porsche also used alusil sleeves as in my GTS engine. The strange aspect of my engine was the pistons, which were uncoated, had drilled oil return holes and had asymmetric valve cutouts, I guess ready to accommodate bigger 968 intake valves. The early GTS engines were rubbish, until the oil return holes were drilled, which drastically cuts oil consumption down. The rest - the stronger gearbox, bigger brakes, faster steering rack are all nice touches which cannot be argued against. 


However, a super GT for £25k or a 100k miles + GTS for £20k is really a no brainer...
