Not far at all, I'm regularly around the M1 M25 area, if your up for a drive
down to the Hemel junction sometime we could meet up somewhere. The diags
probably take around 10 mins as they have to run through the various ecu's
in order, and I think the psd may be the last one. All we need is access to
the diag socket under the cover by the passenger seat.

It's also important that since the faults have occurred there has been no
disconnection  of battery power as I think this clears the fault codes.

I would suggest a sensor is giving an erroneous reading, and the ecu shuts
down the PSD The ecu has diags which should determine the reason for closing
it if it is sensor based, I think it says something like "out of range" for
the sensor it thinks may be a problem. Where about's are you, I have one of
John Speake's spanner boxes if you are close by which we could use to read
the diags, it makes the job easier.

 

If there are no abs warnings or activation at the same time, it's probably
less likely to be a wheel sensor, but I may be wrong.

Hello All
 
When I bought my car I was aware that the PSD was not working as the dash
told me whenever I started the car, I¹ve since had the pump overhauled by Dr
A which seemed to fix it and I now see the PSD light active from time to
time. 
 
But I then found that occasionally when cruising at Motorway speeds in a
straight line and with apparent loss of traction, the PSD light would appear
and then possibly be disengaged. I mentioned this to Dr A on my next visit
and he changed the ecu but it still switches itself off and it seems to
happen at speeds around 60mph. (this may be coincidence), but I¹ve never
seen it happen at low speeds.
 
Dr A has advised some self-diagnosis to try and keep on top of costs and so
I wondered if anyone else has experienced anything similar?
