Congratulations on the purchase.

Unfortunately there's nothing simple about replacing brake pads on a 928
that's seen road salt, unless the callipers have already been refurbished.
Here's a four page article you need to read first:

Several years ago I refurbished the front calipers, but I failed to remove
a couple of the machine screws successfully, milled them off instead, and
had to find another way to secure one of thestainless steel plates.
Removing the other six machine screws was a very tedious and awkward
process even though I was using heat. So I decided to ask Chris Sanderson
at Loe Bank to remove the machine screws on the rear calipers.

I sent them on Tuesday and they were back with me on Saturday morning. He'd
removed all eight, and supplied new screws, and charged me £52 + VAT, an
absolute bargain. He did warn me that the actual charge would be based on
time spent, and if the calipers were in really bad shape it could cost
perhaps two hours labour.

I would definitely recommend his services to anyone considering this job.
Of course you could be lucky and the callipers will be in perfect shape, if
so go buy yourself a lottery ticket as well.
