[928uk] oil leak

I've got an oil leak that is getting slowly worse - I think it's coming from the front of the passenger side but I cant tell if its from the cam tower gasket or the head gasket - It's running along the exhaust from the manifold and obviously smelling of burning oil - it gets worse when stopping on an incline say on a slip road. I thought it may be the cam covers at the end of the cam towers near the firewall but they seem dry.  Is it an engine out job to fettle a cam cover gasket? I don't suppose anyone recommends an instant fix pour it in and voila type remedy? (nope didn't think so!!!)
