[928uk] 3 speed to 4 speed change?

Hello all, I was asked today be another owner who has a 928 3 speed auto and
the box is on its way out if it's possible as he has to change to go for the
later 4 speed box , I don't know so asking if anyone here has made this
change? And if so is it a straight forward swap or a lot more complicated.
Any advice /experience please
