Martin,
I think I've had both issues.
First, check that the cam belt warning cable is correctly in place. If not
it will light up on the dash even if the belt is fine.
Second, squeak could be the rear shock vibrating as it moves on the lower
arm (at the base). Lubricate with WD40.
