[928uk] S2 / S4

Apologies for how basic my questions may sound... And while some of you have
amazing technical knowledge, I¹d appreciate a basic answer if possible...

1. What is the main difference between an S2 and S4?  Is it simply the S4 is
a later model, superceding the S2? And as such S2¹s feature simpler
mechanics and older styling?
2. Mechanically speaking ­ which is simpler to maintain?
