Is the "Porsche specialist" a 928 specialist? Do they have the correct
tool for setting the belt tension?
The 928 belt is set tighter than most when the engine is cold as the
tensioner backs off the tension as the engine block expands with heat,
so it really does need to be right in the first place.
Second thing is that belts do "bed-in" and sometimes need adjusting
after a few miles. This isn't usually necessary if the belt has been
turned over a few times before the tension was set in the first place.
For your rear shock squeak, make sure everything is tight particularly
the top shock mounts and the big pins that clamp the bottom of the shock.
