I haven't used him for a few years now, but Ray Northway was always a good
bet; he knows the 928 very well and provides a good honest service.
Best regards,
Don.

Subject: [928uk] Intermittent Immobiliser Issue
Gentlemen,
If was good to meet up in Tilford on Saturday… I got back to Reading late
afternoon; this Monday morning my car would not start. The lights were
bright, nothing looked dimm or sluggish on a weak battery. The voltmeter
read 12 volts. But the engine wouldn’t even turn over despite a brightly
lit dashboard. So this evening and with Vince’s help on the phone, I
checked a few things and then decided to try Pin 14 - it started
straightaway!
Since the voltmeter reads 14 volts when the engine was running and all
seemed to be fine once the engine started, I expect that I have an
intermittent problem with my immobiliser.
I am going to speak with Chris Sanderson tomorrow to get some advice, but he
is a long way up north if I need to get the car to a specialist. I don’t
want to have to use the Pin 14 trick to get it fired up every time, so I
would like to know if:
1) anyone else has had this problem,
2) it makes sense to have the immobiliser repaired - or replaced?
3) anyone has a recommended electrician or specialist in the Reading area
Any and all advice gratefully received. Thank you.
Oscar
