[928uk] New to the site

Hi All,

I have a serviceable S4 rear bumper cover in black as I now only have early cars this is surplus, if of interest to anyone ? would need paint to correct colour and maybe a couple of fixings replaced / repaired  can take pics if needed , located in Hampshire as postage would be awkward

Helen,

I believe there were a small number of late build S4s that had GTS arches and PU fitted as production ended; also some Japanese imports were also equipped with GTS arches and PU. Worth checking your car’s history before changing. The country spec code is noted in the handbook and on the label on the rear floor right of the spare. Take a photo and we can decipher for you.

Each to their own but I agree and would automatically think rear end damage, and only a GTS rear end could be sourced! 

I think buyers now want originality as far as possible seeing as values on the up.

Definitely a good idea Martin.

A GTS rear PU looks good on a GTS but not on an S4 or GT. 

Every time I see a GTS PU on a S4 or GT it says to me 'rear end shunt'. Although there are a small number of people who changed because they like the appearance.

My Gt has a GTS rear pu and I am thinking of putting it back to standard as I have one off an S4.

Any thoughts ? Good or bad idea?

To get a full GTS rear end you need the flared wheel arches as well as the updated PU with reflector strip.  The arches can be replaced, it's a separate metal body panel.  But obviously painting etc is required. 

Dave at Daytona has a green S2 which he has put the rear wheel arches on and it looks fantastic with the original shaped rear lights and hatch spoiler

Sounds like the heater fan motor has dry bearings. Not something that is effectively repairable - I would gt a 2nd hand heater fan from someone like Paul Anderson. Not hot or cold can be a number of things which would take a long time to explain, but it is better than hot all the time except when the slider is at 18 deg. 
These re-gassing kits are useless I'm aftraid. the job needs sorting properly. Battery going flat will probably be the alarm - the fitting quality is very varied and a lot of people (me included) have binned them completely - and when the battery has been left flat for a time it knackers it.
