Thanks Marton, but that's not quite as reassuring as it might be as my car
now has nearly 400k km on the clock.
Thanks also to Roger, I hadn't considered that there would be significant
difference in the quality of the chains available. I did replace the nylon
pads, but that was 60k miles ago, so they may be worn again by now.
As for getting the cam covers painted, Paul has a very good point, but I
have recently aquired a mild addiction to powder coating due to the work on
my other car.
