I had a leak, seemed to be from the thermostat housing - so I ordered a new
thermostat and O-ring and the seal that sits behind the thermostat. Sure
enough original O-ring was badly pinched. Sorted I thought - now no leaks
but it runs hot - noticed bottom hose cold and radiator cold. Tried testing
the thermostat - it opened when heated - but replacing the thermostat
again. Still ran hot. Tried flushing the radiator and refitted everything
and re-filled and followed filling instructions to the letter in the manual
- still running hot. However, now bottom hose appears hot?

I noticed that the heater doesn't blow warm air until I rev the engine a
bit - is that normal? Is there a good/fool proof test for the water pump?

Best regards,

Dave Bratley
