Adrian,
            I think that is one of the problems with cars such as the 928, they are so well built and engineered that the unscrupulous have a much greater chance of getting away with losing miles and potentially inflating the price (you can’t beat a comprehensive service history but that would apply to any second hand purchase).

As an aside I sold my GT with just over 225,000 miles on the clock and that miraculously seemed to travel back in time when it was resold a little over a year later.

I've not seen higher Guy. Astonishing. 

The mileage averages a little over 1000/year. Mind you I looked up one of my old cars on that MOT site today, and the mileage was about 100,000 lower than when I sold it almost twenty years ago!
