Thanks Smiffy - yes I have bulb holders from a Nissan Quest which work very well. They are $16 for two holders. They need a little modification with a Stanley knife and fit perfectly. I am not sure you can buy them in the UK. You splice them into the harness. They have two contacts so a two filament bulb can be used. Some have added these double filament holders all along the bottom of the light lens and wired so that you have three side lights and three brake lights. However on the ROW lens one is already a double filament for the rear fog light IIRC.

I think Roger sells replacement bulb holders from another car which fit, possibly with a small modification.
