I had a seized fan.  I noticed it only because the good one seemed to be working a lot.  The good one spun very freely by hand.  The seized one was quite stiff to turn but did turn.  Turning it by hand a couple of revolutions got it working agin for 5 mins.

My flaps decided to stay open all the time about 5 years ago but I don’t mind that; they’re just to reduce drag at 150mph!

So if they both feel seized, maybe you had one seized fan that you didn’t notice and the other followed?
