They sell for about $1500. I did see one sell for $2500 on eBay about a year ago but I think that was lucky.
Porsche never sold a 928 watch as far as I know. Being Laco is good as they are very high quality.
Designed by the 928 community with the help of a watch specialist who is also a 928 owner was also a plus.

Hi James,
We've got one. It one of the last XKRs with the speed and black pack (combo of wider tyres, aero kit, no chrome and higher speed limiter). Plus sport seats with harness holes (a little OTT, but still comfy).
It is massively fast in a straight line and has loads of lateral grip due to the massive tyres.
The engine is brilliant with masses of instant power due to being supercharged.
The steering is a bit light and the throttle is very sensitive with quite a small amount of travel compared to the long travel on 928s and BMWs which takes a little getting used to.
They are "traction limited" in anything other than warm and dry conditions. They do have a winter mode which dulls the throttle and alters the gearbox behaviour.
Some may have Alcon brakes fitted which are very expensive to replace. The brembo ones are quite reasonable though and are perfectly up to the job. Most dealers have menu pricing, set by JLR. Do a search and you should find all the service items at quite reasonable prices from main dealers.
The onboard systems (nav, radio etc..) are not so good and are touch driven. They will only support older iPods and iPhones via the media dock. There is no Bluetooth streaming, just bt for telephone calls. However, the B&W speakers are exceptional.
The fuel tank is far to small as well. It's about 60 odd litters and gives a range of 250 miles. It should be 80-100 considering it's a GT which would allow for 400-500 miles between stops.
We've had a couple of small issues mainly due to sensors. Nothing major, but I'm not convinced that the electronics are as robust as German stuff. Mechanically they are really tough. My dad used to run a Jag tuning business and came across Rs with massive mileages. They had an ex Vernon Kaye 4.2 come to them with nearly 300k and was still in great shape.
For the money nothing comes close and the running costs are reasonable compared to Maserati, M6, AMG Mercs and so on. Find an approved used one and you get 2 years of warranty from JRL under the same terms as a new car.

Hi James
A friend of mine from Paris has an XFR. He has owned for around 3 years although it was not brand new when he bought it but it is his daily car.
He knows nothing about cars but his comment to me was that apart from fuel, he hasn't had any problems with it. Quick and quiet was about the only real feedback I could get. Why someone who knows nothing about cars would buy one is because he specifically wanted a British car amongst his friends and colleagues French and German cars. He is awkward by nature 😀

I ventured in to a Lidl for perhaps only the second time in my life to find only groceries for sale.

Rennlist being US based, I would expect most of the owners of the two designs to be living there, rather than the UK. You occasionally still see wanted posts for the Laco watch, so if you got yours for a steal off eBay you might be able sell it on for a profit if it's not really your thing.

The special offers are usually in the centre of the store in waist-level metal "baskets", but not very well labelled - you normally need to wander up and down that area with your eyes open to find what you're looking for.
If you go to Lidl's website you can set your local store and then it will only show you the offers available at your chosen location.
Bear in mind also that they never get a huge stock, so the conditioners may have sold out in your branch. On the positive side, the special offers are cyclical so if you wait they'll be back in store sooner or later.

All the Lidls have a couple of aisles in the middle towards the far end of the store with all the special offers. Offers change on Mondays and Thursdays but unsold stock will carry forward. You can see current and upcoming offers for your local store on their website. Tools are generally very good value.
They've improved enormously over the past few years and now are generally better than the big ones (but have a much smaller range).

Hi All
I am now fed up with the tailgate catching me out and coming down on my head!. This seems to be worse in the winter, which I know is common with gas struts generally. Warmer conditions not an issue.
Has any one found a good brand they could recommend, or do I head down to OPC?.
Also after washing the car I noticed water drips on the rear sun visors. I am thinking this could be the tail gate seal, that has over time worn/failed. Has anyone got any thoughts.

Last gas struts I got were from Kent Gas Springs. They are still working after 3 years.
Tailgate seals get compressed out of shape then can leak. You should be able to easily reproduce the leak if it is the seal. The only one I've replaced came from roger at 928srus.com a few years ago.

Re: drips on the rear sun visors. Could be rear drains on the sunroof.
Check by opening the sunroof and pouring water (slowly!) into the drain channel around the edge, check it flows out front and rear.
My GTS has a leak at the back of the sunroof that's waiting for me to fix.

Shortly acquiring a 1985 S2 registered C60 TJM (light metallic blue/blue leather interior) that looks to have been very little used since the millennium – some work to do but in decent shape. Patchy paperwork but I am pretty sure the mileage is genuine at 81k. Anyone owned this in the past/know any more about it?

I bought my gas struts from SGS Engineering solutions in Derby 01332 576850 they have a good website http://www.sgs-engineering.com/
£12.99 each with a 2 year warranty.
Boot seal; mine is poor but OK for now I have seen them on ebay about £40, not sure of quality?

Regarding the boot seal, I'd recommend the Porsche part.
I bought a replacement seal for my S4 from a well known uk supplier, and although it fitted ok it has developed some splits in it over approx 5 years. I assume the splits are simply from the constant compression on the seal.
I have just replaced my original GTS seal with the genuine article, but the original seal only has one split in it down by the lock, even though it's 22 years old.
