You may we’ll have combination of electrical issues (internal and/or external temp sensors, mixing motor) and vacuum failures, so you need methodical approach which these guides provide.

As far as tool go it’s very simple. A multimeter to check sensor resistance, and a Mityvac or equivalent (around £20 with adapters) to check vac lines and actuators.
