[928uk] 928uk Digest, Vol 230, Issue 8

Last year I did all three museums - Porsche, Mercedes and BMW as part of a Euro hoon in the GT3. Note to self, unless I want a quick divorce, take the 928 next time (but that’s the subject of another musings).

They were all good as my wife and I love cars. However, we both notice that Porsche was bragging about how good their race cars were, BMW were going on and on about connectivity between cars of today and tomorrow, and the modern World, while Mercedes just said “we invented the car”. The MB museum is a proper experience, which really puts the car into its historical context - how it changed the course of WWI for example, how it changed mobility in the US, what part of popular culture it played and so on and so forth. We really enjoyed the whole day. Thus when we discussed the museums of BMW (and I have owned probably 3/4 of all M cars ever made at one point or another) and also Porsche, we both went “meh”...
