Hi Kevin

It’s great that you’re raising awareness and cash, so was happy to add to total.

Prostate cancer a cause dear to my heart (and other organs), as my brother starting treatment next week. I was also diagnosed early this year, but am just being monitored and suspect the biopsy was so sensitive that anyone my age would have failed!

Raising money for research into the disease is really important, for the same reasons why people on this list shouldn’t rush to demand a test. The current screening test is ambivalent to say the least, and it’s still tricky to identify people who would benefit from treatment, versus those who can be safely left without intervention. I don’t mean to minimise the situation for men with advanced disease, not the huge number of deaths due annually to prostate cancer, but the money you’re raising can only improve this situation. It’s a fantastic effort on your part.

I think one of the Jag clubs does a regular round Britain run in aid of Prostate Cancer, but can’t do any harm adding similar event.
