No i was not expecting the headlamps to move just the reflectors inside.

i had the lights shining on the garage wall and was expecting to see the beam drop as it does on my Merc. It did not move.

May take the headlamp covers off and have a look inside. Having said that as these would be used so infrequentlyi t may not be worth the hassle as i am not going to drive around much with the car loaded down with luggage.

The movement is tiny, a couple of degrees, you will only notice it in the dark, the dip beam cut-off will move.
Were you expecting to see the headlamps move from the driving seat?

If the mechanism was not connected, the headlamps would be loose and bounce around over bumps.

Had the car two years and never used the switch beside the drivers seat to adjust the headlights.

Today i tried it out and all i get is a whiring sound for a few seconds from the front of the car, which i assume is a motor, but no movement of the lights.

Before i had the car it had a glass out respray which i assume included removing the headlights but was then not used until i bought it. It may be that whoever did the job did not connect up whatever moves the lights.

Any ideas on what i can check out. I do not want to start stripping in the wrong place.
