Hi John
On that point the rev counter is moving erratically whilst cranking, moving up to 3-5k revs. I did fit a new flywheel sensor you supplied about 3 years ago.
Any thoughts?
Cheers,Rob

Hi Rob
The fuel pump shouldn't run until the engine is turning and the car has a spark. It's an output pulse from the EZ-F ignition ECU that drive the rev counter and wakes up the LH fuel injection ECU.
So as a first check, see if the rev counter moves when the engine is cranked.

Hi Guys
I haven't tried to start my 928 for 6-7 months but I did last weekend and it cranks ok, but there is no attempt to fire. I have gone into no start diagnostic checks before, but my garage is a bit narrow to open the passenger door fully to get to the electrical board.
After cranking there was no odour of petrol from the exhaust so I am starting on the basis of fuel relay or fuel pump issues. My question is should the fuel pump run continuously with the ignition on? At least that is easier to get to at present.
Many thanks in advance.
