[928uk] Improve performance

Hi Mark,

First - change the oil. I would recommend Motul 300v 75w90 LS. Not cheap, but it is probably the best transaxle oil you can get.

Secondly as for improving performance- let me start with a basic question. Is everything on the car in good condition- knock sensors doing their job, hall sensor still there, connected and working, no vacuum leaks and no split intake hoses? Injectors clean and spraying correctly?

If yes, the most cost effective method is as follows- JDS Porsche aka John Speake sells programmable ECU chips that can be swapped into the LH and EZK computers. Once these are installed, he or a few others can remap the fuelling and ignition maps using a Shark Tuner Mk2 and a laptop. Porsche did leave quite a lot on the table, particularly in the mid range. The cost of the chips and remap is very, very reasonable.

If no - then fixing any of the problems listed in the second para will also make the car much better.

Last but not least - if you have relatively deep pockets, I think you can get 400bhp out of the 5.0 lump with some work. Cams, exhaust headers, intake head porting and matching, and finally a map to take care of all the changes.

Hope this helps,

Alex
