[928uk] Still no start.

I have been talking with Martin about this.
The car wasn’t starting in cold weather but would start when the air
temperature went up a bit.
New temp 2 fitted before intake rebuild but still wasn’t starting when cold.
When it did start it would be lumpy almost cutting out, then it settled
down to an even idle.
New fuel pump and filter.
New temp2
New idle stab valve
New injector seal kit
New intake gaskets and seals etc.
New plugs.
So from the above we know it will run once it gets going so timing (not
touched), CPS, getting fuel and spark is all there. Martin measured the
resistance of temp 2 and it's in spec.
That takes us into the not so obvious things like a bad non-return valve at
the pump (if it was swapped over from the old pump) or some other loss of
fuel pressure. Too lean a mixture perhaps or air/vacuum leak but it wont
start with throttle applied when cold either and I'd expect lean mixture to
be overcome with throttle even if it doesn't stay running once started.
I presume the battery has been disconnected while work was carried out so
it resets the idle adaptation
Try checking for air leaks, try starting it without the MAF (I believe the
MAF has been checked) and see if you can check the vacuum on the front fuel
damper line which should be around 18-20hg at idle If you can get it
started. You could also after trying to start it (or running the fuel
pump) 30 minutes later crack the fuel line on the left rail at the hose
that goes to the right rail (carefully) and fuel should spit out at high
pressure so only crack it slightly. If there's no pressure that would
indicate a problem with perhaps leaking injectors. It's more work but you
could check a few plugs after trying to start and see if they're wet and
wet plugs (flooded) don't spark easily.
Regards,
Mike
