Useful info. Our woodypeck seals do not have the kinks in the corner - well at least on mine it hasn't!
We do include the small length of sela as per the original profile!
So you get an original style seal for 2/3 less from Woodypeck on that basis! 🙂

I tried both types. The aftermarket item came from Design 911 and I used on my S4. It did seal the hatch really well, but I was always  a little irritated by the folds in the seal as it went around the corners. It just felt like a potential future leak.

I did change it for the OEM seal on my GTS. I was disappointed that the OEM seal isn’t like a door seal where it's a fully formed and joined up seal. It’s effectively just a length of seal and a joining piece (which is positioned at the lower edge). When I fitted it I didn’t have the folds in the corner, so I assume the seal profile was slightly different.

I nearly always go OEM for everything, but I actually think the aftermarket item was better. My expectation on the OEM seal was so much higher but it felt liked I’d spent 2-3 times more for a length of seal.

If the aftermarket has the same profile etc I would be tempted to go that route.

Hi Ian, Duncan James

I had an OEM seal fitted and it leaked and had been for a while. I fitted our Woodypeck seal and it solved that leak.  The profile is exactly the same - including the air holes on the inner edge - something not all aftermarket seals have!
