I have owned my car for over 20 years now, but way back when I was looking for the right car, I did look at a Gold coloured car (S2) that had a 147 number plate. The seller said that it belonged to a snooker player, but had no provenance. It wasn’t a great car, to be honest, so obviously I did not buy it. As far as I can remember, it was up north somewhere – Leeds, Rotherham, Doncaster – somewhere like that.

Hello all,
I?m looking to take the plunge and purchase my first 928. I?m looking at an ?86 S2 which looks a tidy car inside and out. Solid history and I would say low miles at 90k.
The car has done very little miles over the last 12yrs (under 1000 a year), it has been maintained and stored well. I will likely do the same amount of miles and only bring it out in the finer weather.
My first question is about finding a 928 / Porsche specialist somewhere near me for servicing or major tasks. I?m in between Perth / Dundee in Scotland, so any helpful suggestions greatly appreciated.
Lastly, the forum is running fine with the group but have noticed the website hasn?t changed much post Covid. Any planned meets or shows on the agenda?

Yes Steve Davis definitely owned a 928. Apparently chosen in preference to a 911 because a snooker cue would fit in a 929 and not in a 911. Think he had a driver to take him to tournaments.

I am trying to remember, but there was a 928 connection with Steve Davis in the early days of 928 UK & 928 GB lists. Years ago Matt Harvey had a 928 that was connected with Steve Davis...... either he sold him one, or to Steve Davis' brother, or possibly Matt bought one from one of them. I can ask him. I think it was a white S4 (or that may be the one Matt sold to Joel Hopwood? !! ) I'll ask Matt.

I am referring to the Matt Harvey one, he sold a grey S4 to Steve Davis's brother.
It was after my first trip to the Nurburgring, Matt had the grey S4 there at the Ring.
