[928uk] Timing gear supply & tensioner issue

Hi Smiffy

Thanks for the intel. I have both 16v & 32v but these are for the 32v (89gt). Roger is showing parts on backorder but Machineoprime who seem to make these for him are showing stock. Will contact Roger and see whats going on I think as I would prefer to order from him. 

Also I encountered an issue with the tensioner - fill nipple broke off and proving difficult to remove even with welded nut etc. Several 2nd hand listed but not the part number that seems to be correct for year. Do you know if the differences are just in the nipple/ or plug or no plug or is there something more fundamental with regard to geometry or operating pressure?

First, is yours a late 16valve or 32 valve?

The ones I can see on ebay are for 16v motors, Roger's are for 32 valve motors. Roger's are made with the experience of many years of wear on original gears, so are supposed to be harder wearing than the originals, and will come with a meaningful warranty. The Ebay ones are probably new old stock, and you could return them under the Ebay guarantee if they didn't seem to be genuine, but if they wear out in two year, you would be on your own.
