a little history to it:
about 8/9 years ago there was a guy on this list who owned this vehicle and
was contemplating selling it but wanted it to go to a good home, so i gave
him an offer, i would buy it from him for X, the V5 in my name, i would
restore it and keep a list of invoices of all the parts i used and when it
was fully restored if he wanted to buy it back from me it would cost him
the same X + all the invoices of the parts i used, my labour would be free.
i would enjoy restoring and driving it while i did it and he would get a
very nice car back -he was not a mechanic at all- IF he wanted it.
about a year into the project he contacted me and said he had bought
another classic car so the car was mine, 8/9 years ago they were cheap 😁.

about another 6 months later my boss asked if i wanted to sell it at the
same time as the SE i have now was for sale, so i sold this car to my boss
and bought the SE.

so it sat outside at my work in the same position, no cover on for at least
5yrs 😟
then my boss https://www.davidhayton.co.uk/, well his son Chris decided to
do it up, when i had it the rear quarters were starting to bubble under the
paint as were the sills, and after it had been sat out side they were
rusted through.
BUT we do have a very good bodyshop, so it has had a very good windows out
full respray, we had to buy a rust free 928 shell to harvest the sills and
rear quarter panel, but it is now a very solid bodywork, rust free and with
beautiful paintwork.

BUT its still a project, the interior is all there and original but the
door panels need recovering, and just looking a little tire, i said i was
not going to try and start it without putting a cambelt and water pump on
it, so has a new gates belt on it, water pump is new but has a metal
impellor, and has a slight leak.

there is documented history as to what i did when i had it, from memory i
put new Bilstein shock absorbers all round and i think new fuel pipes
between tank and engine bay and a lot of other little parts were fitted
under the vehicle..
it did get new discs and pads all round but they are looking a little rusty
now...

i will be working at the auction, if anybody is interested in it, or any
other vehicle on sale.
no idea on a reserve price for it and no internet bidding, have to be there
in person.
would i buy it back if i did not have the SE? yes as its a solid base for a
project.
