Hi, is there anyone using POR-15 who can vouch for it providing 10 years
plus protection against rust and corrosion?
Best regards,
Jonathan

Has anyone used POR-15 over 10 years ago and can vouch for the
manufacturer's claim "Stop Rust & Corrosion Permanently on Automotive
Parts"??
I've been using wire brushes, Jenolite rust remover, and Hammerite for 40
years, but I'm aware that on my winter-use 928 GT the suspension parts have
to be re-done after 5 to 10 years. If POR-15 can do better I'll switch.
Best regards,
Jonathan

Hi David
I sanded all my suspension bits with wire brush attachments and flap wheels
then painted with por-15. Horrid stuff but sets rock hard.
For cosmetic trim bits I just walked into the powder coaters with a box of
bits and they fitted them in with their next batch of black.

Hi
Thanks to Ian Marsh I am progressing well with relacing my rear shock
absorbers. One thing I am struggling with is the refurb of the spring seats
and other metal parts. Do I a) buy new b) sand down and spray the old ones
c) get powder coated?
I am struggling to find a powder coating company near me in Harrow. Crystal
Clear Wembley seem to get good reviews but don't answer the phone or emails.
PRfinishing seem a bit dim. Their website has the wrong email address and
when I called and asked him to text the correct one, he failed to do so. I
am not after a pristine finish but it's taking me ages to sand the parts
with my drill attachments and then I have to paint them.
Thoughts please.
Thanks
David
