[928uk] Factory tour 1986

A group of us did the factory tour in 2018. We couldn't see all of the
production line as the new model 911 was being made and wasn't released to
the public yet. There was a beautiful current gen GT2RS just finished.
Air management is all very nice for a track car on the new model out now
but it looks a bit silly on the road. If I were ever to delve into the
beetle range I think the 993 would be the one I'd go for.
We saw the engine line, mostly put together by hand with machines checking
things. One machine set the timing on the cams, another pressurised the
water passages. It's all computerised and last minute if that's the term
so the correct parts arrive at the assembly station to go on the correct
car. Very impressive and a world away from the 1986 video. The workers
have a set routine and breaks so everything and everyone just stops.
Oh and cameras had to be left behind!
