Hi,
It’s an hydraulic system on your car. They never work.
A nightmare you wouldn’t believe to fix !!
 Remove the knob and preferably the gubbins under the carpeted cover. Put a grommet in the hole or something useful like a digital voltmeter or usb twin supply.
It will not fail again.
P.S. you might need to take it to a different testing station if they are really anal.
