Something else to consider. In my '80 I have a set of generic over-mats 
which are not fixed in position (the car doesn't have the brackets 
00004320280 only listed for '87 on). They don't move around for me, but 
once when someone else was driving, they managed to get the mat pushed 
forward so much that it was holding the throttle pedal down. Different 
shoes maybe or maybe they shuffled their feet in a manner that I don't. 
(Geordies will be humming "keep your feet still geordie hinney" by now). 
So if you do have a problem with your mats moving around you may want to 
get some of those brackets and the later mats with the holes for them.
