[928uk] Engine temps

Hi Jon
That is a temperature sender to the fan control unit not a switch. The
LP/HP switch is on the bottom of the block that the temp sender is
attached to. I'm not sure whether shorting it is a goo thing or not. I
guess the low resistence makes the fan controller think the AC gas is
very hot so I can see how it would have that effect.
Just done a 550 mile trip around cornwall and Devon. Witjout A/C it
would have been very uncomfortable. I am constantly intrigued by the
different positions of the 928 temperature gauge. I have some customer
cars where the gauge reads smack in the middle when warm, and some where
it sits at the 90 deg 3/4 marker. Mine is the latter and just drifts
slightly around there depending on the state of the A/C, ambient temp
and whether the 2nd fan comes on. For sure, without the 2nd fan in
traffic or if it is a hot day, the engine temp will quickly keep rising
