Hi
Llewellyn Guildford on this forum did a very good guide on Youtube which made me realise my engine mounts were in need of replacement. I used the Volvo ones and also found this video very helpful:

He's supplying the Volvo ones. I've got them on my car. With regards to checking if they need doing, place a long straight edge on top of the intake plenum and strut brace. The edge should clear the strut brace by at least 5mm
Cheers,
Andy

most will know that original engine mountings collapse over time.
have just fitted some of Rogers excellent versions to my S4, but a quick
and easy check to see if yours need replacing or a seller says they have
been fitted and you want to check they have.
measure from the top of the P/S fuel rail cover to the bottom of the strut
brace as pictured below

picture shows with the new mountings, should be around 25mm
original sunk engine mounts measured 40mm at the same place.
i know the cross brace can bend slightly over time but i guess most will
have bent at the same rate as mine.
cheers
