[928uk] Locking wheel nuts

The genuine Porsche 18" BBS Sport Design Wheels for a 996 that are on my 928 are £1K to £2K for a set, depending on condition, and I live in London, so I have always used genuine Porsche locking wheel nuts (the shaped type, not the earlier rubbishy ones with a key) and never ever had a problem with them. I have two locking wheel nut removers (one stays hidden in the car) and I keep a note of the number so that I can get another of the right ones from Porsche if I ever need it. All wheel nuts go on with Optimoly or ceramic grease every time.
I don't have cats on my 91GT, so the wheels would probably be the first thing to go!
Best regards,
Jonathan

I agree, I have had a number of issues with locking wheel nuts getting stuck.
I leave them off my 928s now but put them on if I am staying away over night at a hotel - despite the fact I’m fairly sure people don’t steal wheels anymore. It’s too much effort for little reward. More money in catalytic converters!
When I do put them on I only use genuine Porsche as it could be a false economy to use anything cheaper.

I wouldn’t bother with them. Too much faff if often working on car, potential for experiences like yours if not, and I just don’t think our alloys are desirable.
