In my last car club (Stags) there was a lot of commentary on VR1 in Europe
being recently changed and therefore different from the same labelled oil
in the US in that they allegedly reduced the ZDDP here making it an
inferior product. A few members tried to get an answer out of Valvoline
without success.
In the end quite a few recommended Classic Oils Heritage 20W 50 as it had
listed 1300ppm of ZDDP. It's also very reasonably priced at £27.95 for 5
litres.
Not sure it's appropriate for 928 engines but thought I would mention it.
No affiliation with Classic Oils.
