Thanks, I’ll try the resistors.
No, I have not been hit, but LEDs are brighter and come on faster so it’s obviously to help prevent someone running into me.

There's lots on rennlist about this. To get rid of the taillight warnings, you either have to modify the bulb monitor unit or disconnect the warning wires from bulb monitor to dashboard warning system. Or you can use LED bulbs with power resistors that match the power consumption of original bulbs. The power has to be dissipated as heat, same as the majority of the power in a standard incandescent bulb.
What's wrong with standard bulbs? Has anyone run into you with standard brake light bulbs?

I have read through the archives but can’t seem to find a definitive answer
as to whether you can or cannot use LEDs in the brake lights. I bought some
from a reputable supplier and they work, but I have the bulb out warning
and no cruise control.
I note there are references to LED bulbs that have built-in resistors, but
I don’t know if these actually exist or work. I know many places offer
resistor packs but there are lots of warnings about heat that make me
nervous.
Has anybody found an easy solution to this on an S2 without having to chop
in resistors? And if resistors are the only route do these heat up
excessively?
Thanks
